Hi there,
YES, I FINALLY FOUND IT. MY ANTHEM! Chrisette Michele my girl had to bring it down. I don't think you understand how happy I feel. Even though I am kind of upset I didn't make it up myself, I will not be a hater.
So the song talks about... guess what..Ladies please be a queen.
I really don't have anything else to say right now. I just wanted to let you all in on the song. Her lyrics speak for me. And isten to it for yourself, it's embedded right here on this page.:
-Girl Respect Yourself-
Say that I’m a queen, Say that I’m lovely
Say I’m standing tall, I’m all that I can be
Say you’re beautiful, if no one else will
Tell yourself until you believe in you
Nothing wrong with smiles hold your head up high
You can touch the sky everyone can fly hold your head up high
No one bring you down, keep your body clean
Queens are purity, lady be a queen
Girl respect yourself
Girl respect yourself
Lady be a queen
Lady be a queen
I loved Mr. Man, Mr. Man was lost
He didn’t love my body no
He didn’t love my heart
I gave my everything just to love a man
My love my purity oh
Just to find a friend
Never will I run from my heart again
First show me the diamonds, then take off my jeans
Now I’m free again, standing on my own
Loving me again oh freedom for my soul
I’m an heir to the throne of the most high
You neglect me, you neglect what you live by
Lady pick your head up don’t let him disgrace you
Lady watch what he says don’t let him degrade you
And if his body’s calling let him wait till your ready
Save what you earned until a diamond gets lucky
Make sure you got a man who knows what force unites us
In this world we living in your man can only be righteous
Brothers call her Queen and treat her like she’s worth it
don’t let words demean, Queens don’t deserve it
Ima stand tall like the heir I know I am
I’m only gonna win if I am right within yep
-Chrisette Michele-

Hi there,
Well it seems as I have had writers block for a while now. I think I may be thinking too hard. Anyways, today I think I am going to talk about respecting yourself enough to be a lady.
It is getting closer to those summer days. Yes, hotter weather does require less clothes but please, PLEASE,lets all stop for a second and breathe. Ladies, if that is who you truly are, look in your mirrors; and when I say look, I mean look! I see women in the streets with their cracks all out in the open. I always think to myself, why can't these women love themselves enough to be ladies and represent themselves with class and dignity.
I don't know, I guess it can depend on how you were raised. You see, my parents taught my sisters and I to love ourselves, and to treat ourselves with the up most respect. You can't say you respect yourself and leave it all out in the open. It just doesn't make much sense. You may think that I am going a little over board but, I feel like i can't stress this enough. LOVE YOURSELVES AND YOU WILL BE LOVED.
If you don't see it by the words that are printed here, then maybe you will notice it when you walk outside. If your crack is out, you will get attention, but is it the right kind of attention? Men will be men, when they see something that makes them excited they will act on it and say something. However that does not mean that they respect you. It does not mean that they even care about you and when you entertain their calls, it makes it even worse.
Yes, they may remember you, but it will only be for your body. Be memorable in the right way. Let them see your mind, not your thighs. Let them see your aspirations, not your...
Be true to yourself.
Love yourself.
At least like yourself enough to know that you are exquisite.
Stay Blessed.

Hi there,
Ugh! It's over! I know, I know, you don't know what I am talking about. Well this past week I was in a Ms. Haiti pageant on my college campus.I won third place! The actual event was on Thursday night. I have never been so nervous in my life. Being extremely nervous to perform is kind of new to me; I have been performing in front of big audiences since a young age. So why was I so nervous; I DON'T KNOW. My palms were sweaty and my mouth was dry; but once I got through the first question I was good. The pageant was so much fun. It was a beautiful thing to see so many wonderful ladies proudly representing our culture, my Haitian culture.
You know sometimes you are not sure that people are proud of where they come from especially if there are so many negative stereotypes attached to it. But being a part of this pageant has reassured me that your culture and heritage will never leave you. In order to alter the social stigma connected to it you must live it, be it, and continuously represent it with no doubts or hesitations.
It was great to hear so many people shouting and screaming for AYITI, yelling and hollering for the ladies that represented AYITI oh so well. This past Thursday was an enriching experience for me. I would say enriching because I never realized how important it was to be recognized for your country. I was always proud to be a Haitian individual, but it was never more than that. I would love to take it to the next level. I hope that everyone has the chance to represent their culture in some way and some form as I did. It is an experience to remember.
Never hold back the values taught or your drive for creative works. Always stand tall and firm and believe in who you are. One of my favorite quotes is from Terrance Howard and it just happens to fit with what I am talking about: "Presence walks into a room and surrounds and fills anything that’s in that room without trying to demand it, it takes it. It can come from a smile." Be that presence, let it inhabit your body, be the presence that stands strong for its origin. So this post is for everyone; believe in yourself right from the start, believe in your heart, believe in who you are. OMG! I sound like Lena Horne from the movie The Wiz. It is funny but it is also very true. Believe in yourself the whole way through.
Stay Blessed.

We Are Worthy!
Hi there,
Well, I was on the Tyra show site a couple of days ago and and saw that Thursdays show was on teen virgins and "the peer pressure they face to become promiscuous, and the embarrassment they feel for not being sexually active." I was not in front of a television at that time so I did not see the show. However, I still have something to say.
I think that we need to value ourselves, have some self love. Agh! Just know that you are worthy. Why should you feel embarrassed for not being sexually active? Just because all your friends speak highly of it, it does not mean that you should take part. The grass is not always greener on the other side.
I believe that our bodies are sacred and the Lords temple. I believe that we are to wait for the one who truly loves us and who can commit to us. You see what happens is that when we give it too easy that little spark is gone; that little spark of hunt and chase dissipates into thin air. Guys like to hunt. That drive is in them and if you take that away, it is no longer fun. Where's the challenge? Where's that pride in saying, yeah he worked hard for it? Where's the mystery for the guy? And trust, all things that come too easy don't last for long. It is with the dedication, commitment, and esteemed faith that things are earned, deserved and cherished.
Now you may disagree with me and say: "But no I am not giving it too easy. I am just in a relationship and that is what we do. I don't want to be with him for so long and then find out that he can't satisfy me in the bedroom. Come on, you gotta try it out first." Well I am not asking you to agree with me, I am only suggesting that you think before you act.
Now, I will not go into the all well known consequences that might occur, but instead I want to keep it on that subject that I have always believed in; and that is self love.
You should love yourself enough to know that you are worth the wait. I know, I think I have said this before. But it just seems like it can't be said enough. I believe that it is important for all women to understand their value and to know that their self worth is so far beyond imaginable. If we can understand that one thing and just that alone, then we will be able to unleash the tiger that is within. As women we have so much hidden strength and power that has not been tapped into because we just don't know how. We look for answers everywhere except within ourselves.
The answer lies within; we were created to be fierce.
Be not pressured.

Hi there,
Today I went to work. I know you were probably expecting to read that I wish I did not go or that I hate it. Well in fact I love my job. I am a design apprentice for Elements of Earth Jewelry. I work for Earth Rowe who is the creator and founder of the business. I am the type of person who loves to surround myself with positive people, and she is one of them. Earth is a beautiful woman inside and out, which is why I love to work for her. She believes in the same thing I do; women are extraordinary and lovely. The theme of her company is "Women: Beautiful, Courageous, Vibrant, Resilient, Powerful." Her designs and creations do exude that and only that motto. You can see for yourself at www.elementsofearthjewelry.com Hint, Hint... check it out.
So I have come to realize that yes some of us do know that we are beautiful and courageous and strong and vibrant, but do we really know why? Have you ever asked yourself why you are and do represent these qualities? Have you ever been told that you were beautiful? Do you remember the first time you heard that word spoken to you? What does it all mean to you?
Well I do not remember the first time I heard that word spoken to me. Although I do remember that I heard it at a very young age from my parents and loved ones. Throughout my life I have not only heard those words spoken to me; I have heard words such as, inspiring and others I'd much rather not say to not sound self indulgent. My whole point is that hearing these encouraging words at such a young age made me who I am today. Because of this I live to promote self love.
Ladies, I leave you with these words; the next time you talk to your sister, or friend tell them that they are beautiful. Tell them why they are too.
Stay blessed.

To my exquisite ladies
Hi there,
My name is Melanie. I decided to create this blog because I saw and still see the need to encourage young ladies. As I look at the media and just every day life I notice that there are just too many negative images of us out there. These images can alter our young ones' minds to think that they are worthless and only sexual objects. Well I want to remind you, my exquisite ladies, that we are so far beyond wonderful.
Since the images out there tend to displace our spirits I want to share this here oath with you. I try to say this or at least think of these words and let them resonate within my mind before I step outside my door every morning.
Since the images out there tend to displace our spirits I want to share this here oath with you. I try to say this or at least think of these words and let them resonate within my mind before I step outside my door every morning.
This is My Oath:
-I vow to love myself first and foremost.
- I know that I am a beautiful and self confident woman that cannot and will not be driven to pieces by anyone in any occasion.
- I am a regal woman and my body is a gorgeous masterpiece that should remain exclusive.
- I know my worth and it cannot be reduced.
- The look of my skin,
The sound of my voice,
The rhythm of my stride,
The width of my smile,
The access of my wisdom,
The power of my mind
Is illuminating, virtuous, passionate, stunning, outstanding, dazzling.
-I am an elegant, exquisite lady of nature.
I hope these words have uplifted your spirits and have moved you to remind all exquisite ladies of nature that they are beautiful.
Stay Blessed.
